If you’re a solo artist, integrating backing tracks into your live performance can help you achieve a bigger sound. We all want to perform our best when playing live and give our audiences a show they’ll remember. Playing to live clicks and backing tracks will help you deliver a tighter, more polished show. Show Buddy organises your gigs, plays your backing tracks, runs your light and video show, and controls your MIDI equipment – leaving you free to concentrate on a great performance! Show Buddy works with either DMXIS (to control lighting) or Show Buddy Active (to control lighting and video). Show Buddy Active. DMX lighting + video controller. Nov 28, 2012 In my last video tutorial on Ableton Live, I demonstrated how to create and set up loops. Loops work well for repetitive songs or for when you don’t need more than some percussive sounds. But to add more instruments for songs that aren’t based on repeated progressions, full-length tracks – or sequences – are needed.

How to set up playback/backing tracks for live performance
Hi all,
Completely out of my depth here so so forgive my ignorance! Essentially, we've got to the point in the band that i play in where we want to start implementing backing tracks to our live performances. We've seen a lot of friends in other bands doing the same and it sounds great. We're looking to start off using the setup where just the drummer is using in ear monitors, receiving both a click and the mix, keeping us in time, whilst the front of house is obviously just receiving the mix with no click. I know that somehow we need to split click/mix left and right or something like that, but really have no idea how this setup works. We'll be using Ableton Live to run the backing tracks and click. The main area that we're unaware of is the kind of hardware and equipment we need to do this, I've heard things about di box's and headphone amps etc. Can anyone shed some light on the situation for me? Would be amazing if someone could send me a few links to the kind of equipment we'd need. We don't want to invest in anything unless we know we're buying the right stuff! Thanks!
